NYSC reopens Borno orientation camp after 13 years

Not fewer 13 years after the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) shut down its orientation camp in Borno state due to activities of insurgents in state, Corp members have now been deployed to the area to serve their fatherland for one year compulsory service.

In a twitter post on Monday, the NYSC asked prospective Corps members posted to Borno State to reprint their Call-up letters from its portal due to change of venue.

NYSC directed all affected Corp Members to report on the dates printed on their Call-up letters.

Reacting to NYSC’s post on twitter, some Nigerians want NYSC to consider the safety of the Corp members before posting them to Borno state.

However, a political analyst, Imran Wakili Oluwafemi commended the NYSC and the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum for reopening the orientation camp.

Boko Haram insurgents are being dealt with by the Nigerian Military, across communities in Borno State state.
