The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has denied allegations that he provided air transport for the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, to return to the state.
The claim was made by the Kano State deputy governor, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, following the reinstatement of Lamido Sanusi as the 16th Emir of Kano by Governor Abba Yusuf. Gwarzo alleged that Ribadu arranged for two aircraft to transport the deposed emir back to Kano in an attempt to reinstall him in the palace forcibly.
However, Ribadu’s spokesman, Mallam Zakari Mijinyawa, refuted these claims, stating that the NSA did not provide air transport for anyone to Kano. He addressed the media in Abuja, emphasizing that the allegations circulating on social media were untrue and urged political actors to refrain from spreading misinformation. Mijinyawa highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and order in the state, underscoring the need for accurate information to be disseminated.
