NRC makes official date to start night trips

The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced plans to introduce night train operations in the second quarter of 2024, pending the resolution of the security issues that are currently plaguing the country.

In a recent interview, the NRC Managing Director, Fidet Okhiria, said that night train operations would help increase the capacity of the railway system and provide a convenient alternative for travelers.

However, he noted that the current insecurity situation in the country is a major hindrance to the commencement of night operations. Okhiria expressed hope that the situation would improve soon, so that the NRC can begin providing this service to passengers.

Fidet Okhiria, the managing director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, has stated that the main thing holding back night operations is the current security situation in the country.

He said that the train is meant to operate at all times, but because of safety concerns, they have had to limit themselves to daytime operations.

He also mentioned plans to increase the number of train trips on certain routes, as well as to expand operations to include more areas. Okhiria said that these plans are scheduled to be completed before the second quarter of 2024, and that the NRC is committed to providing safe and reliable transportation for all.
