The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Osun State has extended an invitation to former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, urging him to join the party and contribute to the state’s development.

This appeal comes after Aregbesola and his supporters recently withdrew from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing issues such as ostracization, suspension of leaders without fair hearings, and the continuous disregard for their political structure.

Addressing the public, Aregbesola indicated that his political group is open to aligning with any party that shares a progressive ideology aimed at making Osun State a model among Nigerian states.

In a statement issued on Monday, NNPP Chairman Dr. Tosin Odeyemi emphasized the party’s pro-people stance, citing the achievements of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf as evidence of the party’s commitment to good governance.

“Nobody can deny that Ogbeni Aregbesola is a political asset in Osun. Even his former political family knows this but refuses to admit it. If not, why would they blame him for their defeat in the 2022 gubernatorial election?” Odeyemi questioned.

He further urged Aregbesola to consider joining the NNPP, stressing that the state needs a positive force to navigate its current challenges.

“Having Aregbesola in Osun NNPP will undoubtedly strengthen the party’s chances in the 2027 general election. Our vision aligns with his; we all want a happy and prosperous state. Together, we can make history in Osun come 2026,” Odeyemi concluded, extending a warm invitation to Aregbesola and his group.
