Nigeria: The Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to accelerating economic diversification through strategic partnerships and policy-driven initiatives.
Speaking at a ministerial press briefing in Abuja, Dr. Oduwole emphasized the ministry’s crucial role in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in advancing industrialization and trade facilitation towards economic growth.
The ministry is working closely with other ministries, including Agriculture, Arts and Creative Economy, Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, and Health, to create an enabling environment for industry, trade, and investment to thrive. With a workforce of nearly 2,000 personnel, the ministry is structured to drive Nigeria’s economic transformation through investment promotion, trade development, and industrial policies.
Recent achievements include the ministry’s strategic retreat in 2025, where directors and agencies committed to three key strategic projects aligned with the government’s economic agenda. These projects have been integrated into the budget and will be executed with transparency and efficiency. Additionally, the ministry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on digitization to enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery.
