During a courtesy visit by the Presidential Committee on Gas Transition in Abuja, Sulaiman-Ibrahim commended the committee’s efforts to promote clean energy solutions and recognize women’s contributions to sustainable development.She reiterated her ministry’s commitment to supporting this agenda, citing the importance of providing access to clean cooking solutions to reduce energy poverty and empower women nationwide.
The minister highlighted the need to ensure rural women benefit from clean cooking initiatives, which she described as transformative for their health, environment, and economic empowerment. Prof. Mohammed Ibrahim, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Gas Transition, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the urgent need to shift from traditional cooking methods to cleaner alternatives like liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The meeting concluded with a shared vision to ensure Nigerian women are central to the nation’s clean energy future, empowering them to lead the charge in achieving sustainable development goals.
