Nigerian Shines in 2024 China-Africa Singing Competition

Miss Linda Ifeoma Onyelabara, a talented Nigerian singer, has been crowned the overall winner of the 2024 “Good Partners of China and Africa Chinese and English Singing Competition” held in Abuja.

Linda clinched the grand prize of ₦500,000 with her captivating performance in Chinese, competing against other skilled participants. Reflecting on her victory, she described it as a dream fulfilled, attributing her success to hard work and determination.

Speaking at the event, Yang Jianxing, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria and Director of the China Cultural Center, emphasized the universal appeal of music, describing it as a medium that transcends borders and celebrates diversity. He noted its role in fostering deeper connections between China and Nigeria.

Dr. Cui Guangzhen, Director-General of the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, also highlighted music’s unique ability to break barriers and unite people.

Muhammad Suleiman, President of the Society of Nigerian Artists and one of the competition’s judges, echoed these sentiments, calling music a unifier of diverse communities.

The event showcased a harmonious blend of Chinese and Nigerian musical artistry, strengthening cultural ties and celebrating the enduring friendship between the two nations.
