Nigerian Anthony Esan faces charges for stabbing a military officer in the UK.

In a disturbing incident in the UK, a Nigerian man named Anthony Esan, 24 years old, has been charged after a brutal stabbing attack on Lieutenant Colonel Mark Teeton near a barracks in Gillingham, Kent.

The attack occurred at around 5:55 pm on Tuesday in Sally Port Gardens, close to the Brompton Barracks, which serves as the headquarters of the 1 Royal School of Military Engineering Regiment.

Esan has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place following the violent assault on the army officer. He was seen arriving at Medway Magistrates’ Court after his arrest.

According to reports, the suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle after the stabbing took place. He was later apprehended on Mooring Road in Rochester around 6:30 pm following a police operation.

Kent Police confirmed that the victim, Lieutenant Colonel Mark Teeton, aged in his 40s, was airlifted to a hospital and is currently in a serious but stable condition.
