Police in Kebbi has intercepted two trucks carrying Cannabis Sativa (Indian Hemp) worth over N600 million as well as 7,500 live cartridges, at Tsamiya Maje in Bagudo local government area of the state.
Parading the suspects at the Command’s Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, the spokesman, SP Nafiu Abubakar, said officers at the Border Drill, while on patrol, intercepted two trucks loaded with 4,927 and 4,906 Cannabis Sativa and the cartridges.
The suspects are Shola Adeyemi, Rasak Agbola, Emmanuel Chukuma and Kanta Bisa, a Ghanian.
In an interview with Radio Nigeria, the suspects said they loaded the consignments from Ghana and Benin Republic, and that the truck was heading to Lagos, Nigeria.
They said, they had passed eight security checkpoints from the Nigerian border before they were intercepted at Tsamiya Maje in Kebbi state.
SP Abubakar said investigations were ongoing to apprehend other suspects, now at large.
