Abuja, Nigeria — The Government of Nigeria has expressed strong condemnation over the recent terror attack in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives and injured many, most of them tourists.
In an official statement, Mr. Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, labeled the attack as a heartbreaking tragedy and reaffirmed terrorism as a pressing global menace that requires coordinated international action.
Drawing from Nigeria’s own painful encounters with extremist violence, the statement emphasized the urgent need for global cooperation to eradicate terrorism in all its forms.
“We stand with the people and government of India during this moment of grief,” Ebienfa noted, offering thoughts, prayers, and solidarity in the quest for a peaceful and secure world.
The statement concluded by affirming Nigeria’s unwavering support for international efforts to uphold peace and justice, as multiple counter-terror operations intensify in the Kashmir region following the attack.
