Nigeria _ The federal government has directed the immediate transfer of victims of the recent tanker explosion in suleja, Nigerstate, to tertiary health facilities for prompt and enhanced medical care
This decision was announced by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who led a high-powered delegation to assess the situation.
According to Idris, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was deeply hurt by the tragic incident and mandated the Minister of Health and the National Emergency Management Agency to ensure the immediate evacuation of victims to intensive care units. The Minister noted that the President has constituted a committee to investigate the root causes of tanker explosions, which have claimed over 265 lives in the past five months.
Idris commended the Niger State Government for its swift response to the incident and announced that the National Orientation Agency will launch public awareness campaigns to educate citizens about the dangers of scooping petroleum products after fuel tanker accidents.
