The Niger State Government has settled the N205 million owed the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) fees.
The Special Adviser to Governor Muhammad Umar Bago on Print Media, Ms Aisha Wakaso, made this disclosure at a press briefing in Minna, the state capital.
According to her, the state government decided to pay the debt to ensure the students’ withheld WAEC results were released.
“So far the results of students from Niger State withheld due to none settlement of debts owed by the state have been now been released for students,” she stated.
The Governor’s aide also disclosed that the government has recieved samples of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to be procured to reduce transportation difficulties being experienced by people of the state.
She added that the 200 vehicles the State ordered would soon be delivered.
