Abuja, Nigeria. — The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Amanda Azubuike on her promotion to Brigadier General in the United States Army.
In a statement from Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa hailed Azubuike’s elevation as a remarkable achievement reflecting her unwavering dedication, resilience, and outstanding service.
Born in London to a Nigerian father and a Zimbabwean mother, Azubuike began her military journey in 1994 as a U.S. Army aviator. Over her illustrious career, she has held key leadership roles, including platoon leader, flight operations officer, and public affairs officer. She currently serves as Deputy Commanding Officer at the U.S. Army Cadet Command.
Dabiri-Erewa described Azubuike’s promotion as a barrier-breaking milestone that underscores the significant contributions of Nigerians in the diaspora.
“This achievement is not just a personal victory but a source of pride for Nigeria, highlighting the exceptional talents of Nigerians making impactful contributions globally,” she stated.
