Nigeria _ The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that Eric Chelle, the newly appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, will be officially unveiled on Monday at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja
Chelle’s appointment has sparked mixed reactions among football enthusiasts, but NFF President Ibrahim Gusau has expressed confidence in the Franco-Malian coach’s ability to succeed, urging Nigerians to unite and support him.
During the unveiling ceremony, the NFF is expected to announce Chelle’s coaching staff. The new coach will begin his tenure by leading the Super Eagles B team to the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in East Africa next month, followed by the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where the team will aim to revive their campaign. Chelle brings significant experience to his new role, having led Mali’s Aiglons to the quarter-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
