In the aftermath of Jose Peseiro’s contract expiration at the end of February, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially declared the coveted position of the Super Eagles head coach vacant.
Amid swirling speculations about the appointment of an interim coach, the NFF clarified on Friday that it has commenced the search for Peseiro’s successor, actively inviting applications to fill this crucial role.
In a statement on its website, the NFF urged passionate and proven football coaches to step forward, proclaiming, “Attention passionate and proven football coaches! The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is looking for a visionary leader to take the helm of our Senior Men’s National Team, the mighty Super Eagles! This is your chance to lead a team steeped in history and guide them towards even greater glory on the international stage. Are you ready to answer the call?”
Despite rumors circulating about the potential interim appointment of former coach Austin Eguavoen, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau emphatically denied such reports.
In a parallel move, the NFF has also declared the position of the Golden Eaglets’ Head Coach vacant, signaling a comprehensive restructuring within the coaching staff.
