President Bola Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of Imam Kashim Imam as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday, saying the withdrawal is effective immediately.
The statement, however, did not provide any reasons for the withdrawal of Imam Kashim Imam as FERMA Chairman.
Imam Kashim Imam’s appointment as Chairman of FERMA, at the age of 24, received mixed reactions from Nigerians.
Some sections accused the President of rewarding his supporters who contributed to his rise to the highest position in the country.
On the other hand, another group commended President Tinubu for appointing young individuals and setting an example for others to follow.
The statement also clarified that the directive does not affect any other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA.
