CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu has commenced his tenure as the new Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, signaling a firm stance against crime and criminal activities during his administration.

In a briefing with journalists at the Command’s headquarters, Olatunji outlined five key areas of priority that will guide his approach to maintaining law and order in the FCT:

“Enhancement of Community Policing Initiatives: The Commissioner aims to enhance community policing initiatives to make officers more visible and accessible, fostering a sense of safety and trust among residents.

“ Intelligence Gathering: Strengthening intelligence-gathering capabilities will enable proactive measures to address potential threats and criminal activities before they escalate.

“Technology Integration: Modern technology will be leveraged to aid policing efforts through tools like data analytics and surveillance systems to enhance operational efficiency and response times.

“Training and Development: Emphasis will be placed on continuous training for officers to ensure they are equipped with the latest techniques and knowledge in modern policing practices.

“Public Engagement: Active engagement with the public through town hall meetings and outreach programs will aim to build a stronger rapport between the police and the community, promoting collaborative efforts in combating crime and ensuring the protection of citizens’ rights.
