NEITI Chief Advocates Virtues for Public Service Excellence

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Dr. Ogbonnaya Orji, has underscored the importance of patience, loyalty, and dedication as essential qualities for achieving success in public service.

Speaking at a recognition ceremony organized in his honor by the Nzuko Arochukwu cultural group in Abuja, Dr. Orji described public service as a journey of learning that requires perseverance, sacrifice, and unwavering integrity. He emphasized the need for civil servants to prioritize self-improvement, competence, and adherence to regulations while fostering a sense of commitment to national development.

“Public service demands not just qualifications or education but a readiness to grow with time, follow established rules, and remain dedicated to the system,” Orji remarked. “Without patience and loyalty to constituted authority, one’s impact in public service may be short-lived.”

Dr. Orji expressed gratitude to the cultural group for honoring him with an award of excellence, viewing the recognition as a call to deepen his contributions to both his community and the nation.

The President of Nzuko Arochukwu, Abuja Branch, Mazi Samuel Ogundu, stated that the award acknowledges Dr. Orji’s outstanding contributions to national service and community development. The event highlighted Dr. Orji’s exemplary leadership and his commitment to public service values.
