Nigeria _ The Northeast Development Commission (NEDC) has distributed relief materials to over 2,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across seven communities in Bauchi State
The materials, which include food and non-food items, were provided to ease the hardships faced by the IDPs in Dass, Tafawa Balewa, and Bogoro Federal Constituency.
The relief supplies, which were presented symbolically, comprised 1,000 bags of 25kg rice, 732 cartons of spaghetti, 180 cartons of cooking oil, and various clothing items. The Commission’s Deputy Director of Resettlements and Early Recovery, Muhammad Sani Umar, noted that the gesture was in response to a request from the House of Representatives.
The NEDC also provided emergency relief materials to the Misau Koskos Orphans Foundation for distribution to orphans and underprivileged individuals in the area.
