Abuja, Nigeria — The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced plans to blacklist renowned Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (popularly known as K1 De Ultimate), for a period of six months following his recent altercation with officials of ValueJet airline at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
The development was disclosed on Thursday by Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NCAA, during a press briefing aimed at addressing growing concerns over the incident.
“As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months flying in Nigeria,” Achimugu stated, assuring Nigerians that no one involved in the incident would be spared from disciplinary action.
He emphasized that aviation regulations are globally recognized and exist to protect the rights and safety of all passengers, regardless of status or influence.
“These rules are not designed to antagonize any individual. They apply to everyone,” he said. “We will ensure thorough investigation and appropriate sanctions.”
The NCAA also revealed it had formally contacted the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to initiate legal action against the artist.
“Letters have been sent to the relevant authorities to commence prosecution,” Achimugu disclosed.
When questioned about whether KWAM 1’s close relationship with President Bola Tinubu and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo might influence the outcome, Achimugu dismissed such concerns, reiterating the agency’s commitment to transparency and due process.
“No one is above the law. Status or connections will not shield anyone from accountability,” he affirmed.
The move marks a firm stance by the NCAA in reinforcing discipline and upholding aviation standards amid growing scrutiny of VIP behavior at Nigerian airports.
