The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has announced plans to mobilize its members for a protest at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) over the recent hike in school fees across educational institutions in Nigeria.
NANS also warned the Department of State Services (DSS) not to prevent students from exercising their right to protest, emphasizing that it is a globally recognized human right.
The protest is in response to a fee increase at UNILAG that took effect on August 2. Students are calling for a total reversal of the fee hike, citing concerns about the affordability of education for their parents.
