Abuja, Nigeria:The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has urged its Ulama team to intensify sensitization efforts to ensure Nigerian pilgrims are well-prepared for the core rites of Hajj.
Speaking to journalists in Madina, Professor Abubakar Yagawal, NAHCON’s Commissioner for Planning, Research, Statistics, Information, and Library Services, emphasized the critical role of the Ulama in guiding pilgrims through their spiritual responsibilities.
Professor Yagawal explained that the Ulama delegation has been strategically divided into three groups: one responsible for preaching and educating pilgrims on Hajj procedures, another designated to offer prayers for Nigeria, and a third tasked with responding to pilgrims’ questions and concerns.
Addressing members of the team during a coordination meeting, the commissioner reminded them of their sacred duty, underscoring the significance of their role in ensuring a smooth and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage.
“Hajj success depends on the collective commitment of all stakeholders,” he said, stressing the need for unity and collaboration.
The commissioner also commended the medical team for its readiness and professional conduct, stating that medical outposts have been fully established and stocked with essential medications.
“I have met with several of our doctors, and they assured me that they are well-prepared to manage any health concerns that may arise,” he added.
