The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has allocated 1,288 seats to Yobe State for the 2025 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. This announcement was made by the Executive Chairman of the Yobe State Pilgrims Commission, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman, during a press briefing on the preparations for the upcoming Hajj.
According to Alhaji Usman, NAHCON has indicated the possibility of additional seats if necessary. “For now, we have been allocated 1,288 seats for the 2025 Hajj, but we may receive more if the situation warrants,” he said. He noted that this prompted meetings with fare collectors in the state’s 17 Local Government Areas and at the Commission’s headquarters.
Alhaji Usman also outlined the Commission’s plan for distributing the seats, adding that priority will be given to individuals who had paid for the 2024 pilgrimage but were unable to travel. “We have around 180 individuals who will automatically receive seats, as their payments are already with us. For those seeking refunds, we are awaiting NAHCON’s processing.”
He further disclosed that the cost for the 2025 pilgrimage has been set at ₦8.5 million per pilgrim.
