Zurmi, Zamfara State — The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has expressed concern over allegations of civilian casualties during recent airstrikes in Tungar Kara, Zurmi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
In a statement released by Air Vice Marshal Olusola Akinboyewa, Director of Public Relations and Information, the NAF reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding the lives of all Nigerians while fulfilling its role as a professional and responsible custodian of airpower.
The statement assured the public that an in-depth investigation is underway to verify the reports, with findings to be shared transparently.
“Our objective in the North-West remains clear—to tackle banditry and restore peace. Nonetheless, the safety and well-being of Nigerians remain a top priority,” the statement emphasized.
The NAF pledged to collaborate with relevant authorities to uncover the truth, implement necessary corrective actions, and continue to ensure minimal harm to civilians and civilian infrastructure during its operations.
This commitment reflects the force’s determination to uphold accountability while prioritizing human lives as it intensifies efforts to combat insecurity in the region.
