NAF Eliminates 35 Terrorists at Nigeria-Cameroon Border

Abuja, NigeriaThe Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation Hadin Kai, has successfully neutralized approximately thirty-five terrorists near the Nigeria-Cameroon border after an attempted assault on ground troops at Kumshe.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations for the NAF, stated that intelligence from multiple sources guided precision airstrikes, resulting in the elimination of over 35 insurgents across four identified assembly points.

Following the operation, contact was restored with ground forces who confirmed the situation was under control.

This mission highlights the NAF’s steadfast commitment to providing close air support to troops on the ground, while disrupting terrorist supply lines and movement in the volatile northeastern border region.

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, praised the aircrew’s professionalism and reaffirmed that the NAF will continue aggressive, intelligence-driven air operations aimed at eradicating terrorist threats to Nigeria’s sovereignty.

Launched in 2021, Operation Hadin Kai marked a strategic upgrade in Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts, replacing Operation Lafiya Dole to intensify the fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP factions.

Notable progress includes increased defections among insurgents and dismantling of terrorist strongholds, allowing displaced civilians to gradually return safely to affected communities.
