‘My Father’s Shadow’ Will Soon Stream on Mubi

Lagos, NigeriaNigeria’s cinematic landscape celebrates a historic milestone as My Father’s Shadow, the first Nigerian film to screen at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, is set for a global streaming release on Mubi.

 

The announcement comes following the film’s official selection in the Un Certain Regard section of Cannes, known for spotlighting bold and innovative storytelling. Shortly after its selection, Mubi acquired worldwide distribution rights, signaling its commitment to championing diverse global narratives.

 

Directed by debut filmmaker Akinola Davies Jr., My Father’s Shadow offers a poignant exploration of fatherhood, identity, and memory. The film stars Sope Dirisu and introduces Godwin Egbo and Chibuike Marvellous Egbo in their first major roles.

 

In a statement released by Mubi, the platform confirmed that the film will be available for streaming soon across North America, the UK, Ireland, and Turkey. A trailer has already premiered on Mubi’s official YouTube channel, creating anticipation among film lovers worldwide.
