Paris, France — Paris Saint-Germain’s record-breaking UEFA Champions League triumph continues to spark widespread celebration, as former stars Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Thiago Silva, and Lucas Moura have all extended heartfelt congratulations to the French giants after their emphatic 5–0 victory over Inter Milan.
The commanding win not only secured PSG’s first-ever Champions League title but also marked the largest winning margin in the competition’s final history. With the result, PSG became the first French club since Marseille’s 1993 triumph to lift Europe’s most prestigious club trophy—fulfilling a long-standing vision championed by club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
The night also sealed a historic treble for PSG, having already clinched the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles this season. For manager Luis Enrique, it’s his second career treble, adding to the one he achieved during his spell at FC Barcelona. The team’s transformation was fueled in part by the January arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who helped turn their campaign around after a lackluster start to the tournament that saw them finish 15th in the league phase.
Among the first to salute PSG’s milestone achievement was former talisman Kylian Mbappe, who departed for Real Madrid at the start of the season. Taking to Instagram, the French forward wrote: “The big day has finally arrived. Victory and with the manner of a whole club, congratulations PSG.” Though now focused on earning his own Champions League title with Madrid under new coach Xabi Alonso, Mbappe acknowledged the magnitude of PSG’s accomplishment.
Brazilian star Neymar, another marquee player once central to PSG’s Champions League ambitions, also shared his excitement. On social media, he posted a simple yet jubilant message: “Congratulations PSG” accompanied by five clapping hand emojis.
Other PSG alumni also joined the chorus. Former captain and current Fluminense defender Thiago Silva praised the club’s achievement, stating, “What an achievement — Congratulations, PSG.” Lucas Moura, a fan favorite during his time in Paris, added: “Congratulations Paris! Champions, my brother.”
As the club basks in the glory of its long-awaited European crown, attention will soon shift to the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. But for now, fans and legends alike are reveling in a victory that has finally placed PSG at the summit of European football.
