Manchester United have reportedly made an official offer to sign Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) left-back Nuno Mendes amid stalled contract negotiations.
Talks between PSG and Mendes over a contract extension had been progressing for months and were close to an agreement. However, according to RMC Sport, discussions have broken down as Manchester United intensify their pursuit of the Portuguese defender.
United’s recent tactical shift under Ruben Amorim to a back-three formation has increased their need for quality wing-backs, with Mendes identified as a key target. Sources indicate that the Premier League club is actively pushing for a deal, with other suitors expected to join the race.
Mendes, reportedly open to the move, is said to favor a departure from PSG. However, the French champions remain determined to keep the 21-year-old and are still hopeful of securing his long-term future.
As the January transfer window approaches, the battle for Mendes’ signature is set to intensify.
