Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has conceded that the team is likely to compete in the Europa League next season.
During an interview with BBC Match of the Day following their 1-1 draw with Burnley on Saturday, Ten Hag addressed the team’s prospects for European football next season.
Antony provided United with the lead in the 79th minute, only for Zeki Amdouni to equalize from the penalty spot.
The draw leaves Ten Hag’s side in sixth place with 54 points and four matches remaining.
United currently trails Aston Villa, who occupy the last Champions League spot, by 12 points.
When asked about the likelihood of Europa League qualification, Ten Hag acknowledged the reality of the situation, stating, “That is the facts. It is not easy to secure fourth place when you’re so far behind.”
He expressed disappointment with their recent inability to capitalize on winning positions, emphasizing the significant gap to overcome at this stage of the season.
