Mumbai, India — Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire has revealed that the club is bracing for significant changes this summer, with a major squad overhaul expected ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Speaking during a media session at a commercial event in Mumbai, Maguire confirmed that several players will be leaving Old Trafford, as manager Ruben Amorim prepares to revamp the squad. The reshuffle is expected to affect both fringe players and some regular names, as the Portuguese tactician seeks to rebuild the Red Devils for a stronger campaign.
“There’s going to be a lot of changes at the club this summer,” Maguire noted. “Several players will leave, and hopefully there’ll be quality additions coming in. It’s the club’s responsibility to get the recruitment right, and our job as players is to rise to the occasion and prove we should be part of the new setup.”
Among the players expected to be central to Amorim’s future plans are Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho and captain Bruno Fernandes, although many others are reportedly under review, especially those viewed as surplus to requirements.
United endured an underwhelming 2024/25 season, prompting calls for a squad refresh to match the club’s ambitions. The summer transfer window is now seen as pivotal for United’s hopes of bouncing back to title contention.
