Kano, Nigeria— The MAAUN Group of Universities has entered into a partnership with Canada’s Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology to enhance English language training, student exchange, and other academic collaborations.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Thursday, September 4, 2025, by Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, Founder and President of the MAAUN Group of Universities, and Mr. David Agnew, representing Seneca College.
The MAAUN Group includes the Canadian University of Nigeria (Abuja), Franco British International University (Kaduna), Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (Maradi), and Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (Kano).
According to the agreement, Seneca and MAAUN will share expertise and information to support mutual goals. Areas of collaboration include online English language training, opportunities for MAAUN students to further their studies at Seneca, and academic consultation for MAAUN staff.
The partnership also covers joint programme development, recruitment support for Seneca, and promotional activities to expand educational opportunities.
In his remarks, Prof. Gwarzo reaffirmed the Group’s dedication to ensuring the effective implementation of the MoU, noting that the partnership would strengthen research, innovation, and academic excellence.
He expressed optimism that the collaboration would build a lasting foundation for cooperation between the two institutions.
