Ikorodu, Lagos — The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has reiterated its unwavering stance against sexual misconduct, following the dismissal of three academic staff members found culpable of harassment-related offenses.
This decisive action was disclosed in an official memo titled “Dismissal of Staff Members Due to Sexual Harassment Allegations,” which detailed the outcome of a comprehensive investigation and the resolution of the University’s Governing Council.
The affected staff include Nurudeen Hassan of the Department of Mass Communication, along with Kareem Arigbabu and Olayinka Uthman, both from the Department of Arts and Design.
The University emphasized that the decision aligns with the provisions of Section 5.5.2(v) of its Senior Staff Conditions of Service, reinforcing LASUSTECH’s dedication to maintaining ethical standards and a secure learning environment.

“Yes, the disciplinary processes were duly followed, and all affected individuals were issued appropriate queries before the dismissal was approved,” he noted.
Reaffirming its commitment to accountability, the University stressed that any form of sexual misconduct undermines its values and jeopardizes the integrity of its academic environment.
