Lagos Community Demands Action Against Rampant Hoodlum Activities.

RESIDENTS of the Iludun community in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, LCDA, yesterday, raised the alarm that the activities along the railway corridor and near Iludun market have claimed at least 10 lives.

They, however, urged the Lagos State government to address the security challenge in the area.

When Vanguard visited the community, the residents reported a rise in crime, including theft, assault, rape and several attacks which resulted to the deaths of some victims.

They expressed fear for their safety, particularly when passing the railway corridor in the evening or early in the morning.

One of the victims, Engr. Amos Adu, who is the Chairman of the Iludun Board of Trustees, BoT, recounted a personal experience that his phone was snatched at gunpoint.

Adu said: “This area is very dangerous, especially at night.” Another resident and member of Iludun BoT, Mr Oluremi Faotanmi, said: “My daughter was once attacked along the railway corridor by the hoodlums and miscreants. Luckily, she escaped being raped.”
