Lagos Building Collapse: Five Rescued as Rescue Efforts Continue

Lagos,Nigeria:   A devastating building collapse occurred in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos State on Saturday, prompting a swift response from emergency services

According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), five individuals have been rescued from the rubble of the collapsed building, which housed a restaurant on Oremeta Street.

Rescue Operations 

LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu, confirmed that rescue efforts are ongoing, with searchers working to retrieve other potential victims trapped under the debris. The collapse occurred at approximately 8 am, and emergency responders are working tirelessly to ensure a thorough and efficient rescue operation.

The cause of the building collapse is yet to be determined, and investigations are likely to follow. The Lagos State Government has urged citizens to remain calm and cooperate with emergency responders. As the rescue operation continues, concerns about building safety and structural integrity in the area have been raised.
