Kwara State Governor Commends Students for Outstanding UTME Performances

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, expressed his satisfaction with the exceptional performance of students from various public and private schools in the state in the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, Governor AbdulRazaq highlighted the remarkable achievement of Master Samuel Oluwasemilore from Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, who attained an impressive score of 358 in the examination.

The governor extended his congratulations to the 30 students from Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, Kwara, who achieved scores ranging from 300 to 355 in the UTME, along with other high-performing students from different educational institutions across the state.

Expressing pride in these accomplishments, Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized their significance as exemplary achievements that inspire younger generations to strive for academic excellence, thereby bringing honor to their families and communities.

He also noted that these successes reflect a broader positive trend in Kwara’s education sector, following the state’s representation at the World School Debate in Singapore and other notable achievements.

Governor AbdulRazaq affirmed the government’s commitment to further enhancing the educational landscape through initiatives like KwaraLEARN, which has already shown promising results. Additionally, he announced plans for the statewide implementation of this tech-based learning program, aiming to elevate learning outcomes significantly.

Furthermore, the governor unveiled the forthcoming establishment of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund, a pioneering initiative aimed at bolstering resources and promoting accountability within the education sector. He expressed optimism that these measures would contribute to the continuous improvement of education standards in Kwara State.
