The Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara State Area Command has derived the total sum of Six BillionTwo Hundred and Forty Six Million Four Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty -Seven Naira Ninety -Seven kobo(N6,246,485,827.97) between April and June this year.
Kwara State Comptroller of the service, Kehinde Ilesanmi stated this while speaking with Newsmen on the achievements of the command in Ilorin.
He said the total of N9.8 Billion naira was remitted to federation account between January and June this year when he took over the mantle of leadership.
Ilesanmi said the command also recorded 56 seizures of different items with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N48.88Million naira between April and June this year at border areas of Okuta, Chikanda and Bukoro in the Northern part of the state
Comptroller Ilesanmi noted that the items seized include 9 units of used vehicles of different types, 813 bags of foreign parboiled rice (50kg each), 24,950 litres of Petroleum product in 998 jeri cans and 14 kegs of vegetable oil of 25 litres among others.
He noted that the command would not compromise in its mandate of enforcing legitimate commercial activities and facilitating trade among local industries.
The Controller warned economic saboteurs to turn a new leaf of face the full wrath of the law.
