Ilorin, Nigeria — The Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWASRRA) has employed 300 youths and registered over 270,000 residents as part of its efforts to improve service delivery across the state.
Speaking during an inter-ministerial press briefing organized by the State Ministry of Communications in Ilorin, KWASRRA’s Acting General Manager, Mr. Tajudeen Jimoh, announced the agency’s goal of registering three million residents. This target aligns with projections from the 2006 population census, which placed the state’s population at 2.3 million.
Achievements and Expansion Plans
Mr. Jimoh highlighted the agency’s accomplishments, including the registration of civil servants and the establishment of registration centers in all 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State. He also shared plans to broaden the registration exercise to encompass all residents, noting that online registration has been widely embraced.
The registration initiative is designed to enhance effective planning, foster economic development, and promote social inclusion within the state. Mr. Jimoh further stated that many residents have begun utilizing their activated registration accounts for financial transactions, showcasing the initiative’s growing impact.
