Kidnapped Ekiti State schoolchildren, teachers finally regain freedom

In a recent development, students and educators from the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure-Ekiti, Ekiti State, who fell victim to a kidnapping incident orchestrated by armed assailants, have been liberated.

As of 2:00 am this Sunday, the circumstances surrounding the release of these individuals remain uncertain. DAILY POST is currently unable to verify whether the victims were rescued by security forces or if their release transpired following the fulfillment of a ransom payment.

The perpetrators had initially demanded a substantial sum of N100 million for the safe release of the captives. Notably, this sum was not paid promptly, leading to speculations of potential threats to the lives of the abducted pupils.

The abduction unfolded on a Monday evening when the assailants seized the children and their teachers. Amidst conflicting reports emerging on Saturday regarding the release, law enforcement promptly refuted the information.

Nevertheless, a brief video clip circulated on Sunday morning portrays the freed students and educators, visibly fatigued, seated on the floor. The details surrounding their release and the events that transpired during their captivity remain subjects of investigation.
