Keffi-Makurdi Highway Toll operations suspended indefinitely

Nigeria _ Toll operations along the Keffi-Makurdi highway have been temporarily suspended due to technical issues affecting electronic payments.

According to Christian Kure, Assistant Plaza Manager of Aboshon Toll Plaza in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, the suspension was necessary to address network challenges that led to long queues and frustration among motorists. Kure assured that toll operations would resume once the issues are resolved.

Motorists have expressed concerns over the toll payment system, citing inadequate information and difficulties with cashless transactions. To address these concerns, drivers are calling for public education on the new payment system and the opening of additional lanes to ease traffic congestion. The toll operation, which commenced last Tuesday, had resulted in significant delays at the newly inaugurated toll gate in Garaku due to heavy traffic congestion.
