Kane Blames England’s Poor Form for Loss to Senegal.

Nottingham, EnglandEngland captain Harry Kane has expressed deep frustration following the Three Lions’ 3-1 defeat to Senegal in Tuesday’s international friendly at the City Ground, Nottingham.

Kane opened the scoring with his 73rd international goal in his 107th appearance, but Senegal mounted a strong comeback to secure a historic win—becoming the first African team to defeat the 1966 World Cup champions.

“Simply not good enough,” Kane admitted post-match. “We had our moments, but there’s a disconnect—both in possession and without the ball. We’re not moving it well, and we’re losing key battles on the pitch.”

The England skipper acknowledged Senegal’s quality but pointed to his side’s lack of intensity and composure as key reasons for the loss. England had a late goal disallowed after Jude Bellingham’s equaliser was ruled out for handball—a decision Kane believes could have shifted the momentum.

“That makes it 2-2, and maybe we find a way to win,” he said. “But that’s for the officials to review.”

Reflecting on the upcoming World Cup, Kane noted the urgency for improvement despite England’s recent qualification wins.

“No panic, but no excuses either,” he concluded. “We must raise our game—fast.”
