Wigwe, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Access Holdings, the parent company of Access Bank, tragically met his demise aboard a helicopter alongside his wife, son, and three other passengers.
The ill-fated chopper, en route to Las Vegas, crashed near the California-Nevada border on Friday night. The United States Federal Aviation Administration reported the Eurocopter EC130 helicopter crash around 10:00 pm local time, near Nipton, California, approximately 60 miles south of Las Vegas in eastern San Bernardino County.
As of Saturday morning, the US government has confirmed the demise of all on board, with no survivors located. The New York Times has corroborated the incident, though the passengers remain unnamed, and an official statement on the incident is yet to be issued.
