JUST-IN: 30 Feared Dead in Niger State Mining Pit Collapse

At least 30 people are feared dead following the collapse of a mining pit in Galkogo village, Shiroro local government area of Niger State.

Sources indicate that the incident occurred late Monday night. So far, one body has been recovered, and six individuals have been rescued with injuries.

Ibrahim Hussein, Public Relations Officer for the State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), confirmed the incident. However, the State’s Ministry of Mineral Resources has not yet released an official statement.
