Jigawa set to Restore Harmony, Launches Peace Committees.

Dutse, Nigeria —  In a renewed drive for unity and stability, the Jigawa State Government has officially inaugurated peace and reconciliation committees for Jahun and Miga Local Government Areas, aimed at addressing lingering tensions and fostering lasting harmony.

At the formal unveiling of the initiative, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Bala Ibrahim, emphasized that the move aligns with Governor Umar N amadi’s administration’s unwavering dedication to building a peaceful and inclusive society.

“These committees are more than symbolic,” Ibrahim stated. “They have a clear mandate inorder  to dig deep into the causes of conflict, understand their impact on lives and property, and help the government make well-informed interventions.”

The committees will also act as early warning systems, providing insights into potential unrest and recommending solutions that promote long-term reconciliation.

On behalf of his team, Chairman of the Miga Local Government Peace Committee, DC Atiku Musa (rtd), pledged total commitment to the cause.

“We are ready to work round the clock to ensure peace returns and stays in our communities,” he assured.

With this development, the state government reinforces its broader goal of nurturing dialogue and healing, especially in areas prone to unrest.
