JAMB Set to Announce Results of Rescheduled UTME Today

Abuja, NigeriaThe Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that it will release the results of the recently rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) today, Wednesday.

The rescheduled exams, held between last Friday and Monday, were organized in response to widespread dissatisfaction over the initial UTME outcome, which saw over 1.5 million out of 1.9 million candidates scoring below 200 marks out of a possible 400.

Following public outcry, JAMB initiated a comprehensive review of the situation and identified a combination of technical faults and human errors—particularly in examination centers located in Lagos and parts of the Southeast—as major contributors to the poor results.

In a heartfelt address last week, JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, took full responsibility for the failures. Overcome with emotion, he announced that affected candidates would be granted the opportunity to retake the exam under improved conditions.

The Board has now confirmed that the results of the rescheduled UTME are ready and will be officially released today.

Sources within the examination body also revealed that a press briefing is scheduled for this morning, during which the results and further updates will be formally presented to the public.
