A visit by this medium to Apongbon and Oke-Arin Markets in Idumota, Lagos Island, revealed empty containers of baskets, where cost of empty basket goes for N4,500 or more, depending on the size. Similarly, smaller loaded hamper baskets, is being sold from N60,000.
Although, buyers have started lamenting against the unaffordable hampers in the markets, investors can use this opportunity of a possible high demand to increase his/her investment at reduced rate to attract more buyers and make quick money.
A visit to these markets discovered that some buyers merely came to know the prices without readiness to buy.
“Few of the buyers, who refused mentioning their names, said: “Buying and giving hampers are going to be very tough this year. But because it is a necessity to give some people irrespective of cost, they will only buy very few to those who they think. According them, the high cost will only reduce the numbers of hampers one will buy,”
