Nollywood actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot has dismissed claims that he’s gay.
The controversy began after a blog post accused several Nigerian celebrities, such as actors and reality stars, of being gay.
The list, which included the names of several high-profile figures in the country, sparked a strong backlash from netizens.
In an with interview with a news source, he dismissed the accusation as unfounded, emphasizing that he had more pressing matters to attend to than engaging with harmful rumors
He said, “Why would I respond to allegations made against me when it did not reduce or increase my life?
“Secondly, it is an opinion that is being conceived. And I do not think it is necessary for me to come out and say it’s true or not true; as long as I’m affecting people positively, I’m good.
