Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is set to deliver the inaugural personality lecture at the University of Ibadan (UI) on Monday.
The lecture, titled “The Nigeria Police Force and the Management of Internal Security,” will explore the role of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in managing crisis situations within the country. The event is scheduled to take place at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan.
In a statement on Sunday, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, noted, “This landmark event will see IGP Egbetokun addressing a distinguished audience of academic scholars, security experts, students, and the public. He will delve into the complex challenges of managing internal security in Nigeria and offer insights into contemporary strategies and innovative solutions being implemented to address these challenges effectively.”
Adejobi further mentioned, “The Personality Lecture, organized by the TETFUND Centre of Excellence in Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Ibadan, aims to bridge the gap between academia and practical reality. It will provide a platform for robust discussions and the exchange of ideas on enhancing the security landscape in the country.”
The event will feature Prof. K. O. Adebowale as the chief host, Dr. Benjamin Aluko as the host, Prof. Babajide Owoeye as the special guest of honor, and Prof. Adigun Agbaje as the chairman.
The Inspector-General of Police expressed his gratitude to the University of Ibadan for the invitation and looks forward to a productive engagement that will contribute to ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security across Nigeria.
