Nairobi, Kenya — The home-based Super Eagles have been placed in Pot C ahead of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), as revealed during the draw ceremony held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
The eagerly anticipated tournament will feature 19 teams competing for the ultimate prize in African football.
The Home Eagles share Pot C with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic, as confirmed by organizers.
The three host nations—Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda—will serve as seeded teams in Groups A, B, and C, taking positions A1, B1, and C1 respectively. Defending champions Senegal will lead Group D as the top seed in position D1.
The remaining teams have been distributed into three pots based on their performances in the last three CHAN tournaments.
– Pot A: Morocco, Niger Republic, Congo, and Madagascar
– Pot B: Mauritania, Guinea, Sudan, and Angola
The CHAN competition, a biennial showcase of Africa’s top domestic football talent, is set to take place in August 2025, promising thrilling action and a celebration of African football excellence.
