The Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy has unveiled ambitious plans to create two million job opportunities within the creative sector by the year 2027.
During the 2024 Retreat gathering for the ministry and its affiliated agencies in Abuja, the Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, Ms. Hannatu Musa-Musawa, revealed this significant initiative. The primary objective of the retreat was to collectively assess progress, identify challenges, and devise a strategic roadmap for the achievement of the Ministerial Deliverables.
Ms. Musa-Musawa emphasized the ministry’s dedication to expanding Nigeria’s cultural influence globally while simultaneously leveraging it to drive economic growth domestically. She expressed confidence that the implemented measures would not only add an estimated $100 billion to the nation’s GDP by 2030 but also facilitate the creation of two million jobs within the sector.
Mr. James Sule, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, underscored the relevance of the retreat’s theme, “Driving Creativity and Innovation Towards Destination 2030.” He emphasized that creativity and innovation serve as the cornerstone for developing groundbreaking solutions, aligning with the ministry’s overarching goals.
