FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Vigilantly Oversees Ongoing Projects to Ensure Timely and High-Quality Deliverables

The Federal Capital Territory’s Minister, Nyesom Wike, asserted on Monday that his persistent on-site inspections of ongoing projects are a strategic measure to maintain contractors’ accountability.

Wike, who conducted an impromptu assessment of road projects in Guzape and the extensive development of the arterial road ‘N20’ in Jahi District, emphasized the significance of his unannounced visits in ensuring adherence to agreed-upon timelines and quality standards.

The N20 project spans from the Northern Parkway (Shehu Musa Yar’adua Expressway) to the Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway).

Addressing the media, the minister elucidated that these unscheduled inspections serve the purpose of verifying the contractors’ commitment to completing the projects, most of which are slated for delivery by May. Wike underscored his proactive stance, ensuring contractors fulfill their promises.

“We systematically traverse the various project sites to evaluate the assurances made by different contractors, scrutinizing their commitment to meeting the stipulated deadlines and maintaining the expected quality. Our recent inspection in Guzape and the diplomatic zone, followed by the N20 road assessment today, reflects our dedication to this cause.

“When I last visited this location, the progress was not as advanced as it is now, and I am thoroughly impressed with the developments witnessed. This indicates that, with divine grace, these projects will be handed over to us by May, subsequently benefiting the public,” stated Wike.
